The Advisory Committee meets at least once a year to provide insights, advice and strategic guidance to the program including design, implementation, global best practices and dissemination of lessons learned.
The Advisory Committee is meeting this year from May 5-7, 2020 at the World Bank Group office in Nairobi-Kenya
The objectives of this year’s AC meeting is to update the committee members on program implementation progress, seek guidance and for the program team to draw on their expertise in shaping the overall direction of the program.

The Canada-IFC Program
The Youth Engagement Program is part of the larger seven-year Canada-IFC Local Economic Development Program with financial support from the Government of Canada (through Global Affairs Canada). The program is aimed at improving the economic and social wellbeing of communities hosting oil, gas, mining and infrastructure projects. It is implemented in the following countries and administrative regions:
- Ghana: Western Region;
- Guinea: Boke Region;
- Kenya: Turkana County; and
- Cote d’Ivoire: Northerand South-West Regions.
